Statement of intent
NEW STANDARDS
So you’re a good landlord which is why you’re reading this. You are trying to figure out the new Healthy Homes standards, and you’ve come across the “statement of intent.”
What the statement of intent means is that if you have assessed your property properly you have one year to install and fit the appropriate heating required. We are very proud to show you the assessment tool we have developed which will send you a printable statement of intent that fits legal requirements.
There is just one watch out. On July 2021 you need to have installed and fitted the correct heating. Because the “statement of intent” is exactly what it says it is. You still need to have installed a heat pump or alternative heating for your tenant by 21st July 2021. The statement of intent gives you a little grace period.
